We provide every type of aged care

Warrigal Care can provide everything you need as you transition through the stages of ageing. From independent living right through to end-stage-of-life care, Warrigal Care is a trusted friend all the way!

We operate eight aged care homes (including high and low care), seven independent living villages, two day respite program and three community aged care services.

We provide aged care services to communities on the east coast of Australia in NSW, from Gladesville Sydney in the North, to Queanbeyan in the south, Bundanoon and Goulburn in the Southern Highlands to the west, and Wollongong and Shellharbour in the east.

Founded over 40 years ago 

We are proud of our history and enjoy strong links to the local communities we serve. Warrigal Care was initiated in 1964 by local residents and community groups who recognised a need in the community for quality services to older people. The Shellharbour Lions Club, Kiama Soroptimists, Shellharbour Rotary Club, Shellharbour Apex Club, local residents and the Shellharbour Municipal Council worked together and the first facility was opened in January 1968 at Mt Warrigal in Shellharbour.

This last year

We cared for 1252 older people throughhout the year. We have 202 volunteers and 555 staff providing care.

Our Future Directions

We are undergoing a major expansion of our services to care for older people in the community and we are continuing to build and expand our volunteer support for residents.

In Goulburn
We have established on 3.8 hectares of land at Goulburn a 120 bed state-of-the-art aged care facility. It replaced the historic sites of Pencomas Lodge and Mirambeena Nursing Home in March 2008.

In Bundanoon
The Linkside Nursing Home at Bundanoon is renown for its homely care and generous team. We are building a 90 bed aged care facility on the same site as a replacement to the old Linkside Nursing Home. The first 45 beds in the new home were completed in December 2007 and is now open for your inspection.

In the Illawarra
We are a major provider and a major employer in the Illawarra. We are continuing our dedication to improvements by expanding and refurbishing the Queen Beatrix Nursing Home and John & Margaret Land Hostel at Albion Park Rail with an additional 45 beds. This will make it a 149 bed aged care home with high care, low care, dementia care and extra services

We have also purchased land in Beach Street and Corrimal Street Wollongong and have begun planning for the replacement lof our Coniston Nursing Home.
